Class Days and Uniform

At LJDA we offer several types of classes for our students which have been designed to keep lesson days to a minimum but with still offering the much needed lesson time and tuition in different dance styles.

Theatrical classes combining exercises, music, singing, tap and jazz work operate on Saturdays for all ages, beginners to professional. Some classes for youngsters also operate midweek. The uniform for these classes is a variety of LJDA and Energetiks mulberry and black tops, shorts/leggings, leotards, etc. We will be able to advise you of the items most appropriate for your child according to their age. Boys are most welcome, uniform is quite casual in black and white.

Classes for our Preschoolers are held midweek and Saturday mornings. These classes include a wide variety of dance steps in all forms of dance, as well as singing. Tinies wear Energetiks mulberry pink leotard and skirt.

Classical ballet classes operate midweek. Class uniform is any black classical style leotard with optional skirt and pink ballet tights (beginner students have the option of wearing their mulberry uniform if they already have one).

Students must wear the appropriate uniform to classes. Neatness of appearance is required by all students in classes with hair tied back.

Acrobatics classes are also available to students on Friday evenings. Students must have their hair tied up, tight fitted clothing and bare feet.
